August 2009 :: Where Are We Going?

Since I can't tell where magic as a whole is going, I'd like to speak about where I would like it to go. As with any capitalistic system, the focus in magic (at least in Internet communities geared towards teens) seems to be on new products, events, and the like. Which is fine; all that stuff...

    Just Starting...

I started out with the Trilogy and have turned out very well in the long run. The flourishes 101 section is great. Truthfully, the only cuts you need to know for most flourishes are the charlier, the revolution, and sybil. The other stuff you can learn as you learn flourishes. I recommend the...

    Egregious Grammatical Error

Ah, I forgot to write in the part about me not realizing that I could pm T11. In fact, I still don't know where I would go to do that...

    Egregious Grammatical Error

Those errors were intentional. :) The comma before "or else" is also unnecessary. Sorry, didn't mean for that post to come off the way it did. It's not a big deal; it was just funny to see that big apostrophe there. It's the first grammatical mistake I've seen on any of T11's stuff, so that's...

    Egregious Grammatical Error

On the preview for the new Bee cards: "Reserved only for the world's finest casino's". Geez, some one at T11 needs to go back and learn their basic grammar, or else quickly fix that typo. I mean, when you're trying to produce a really proffesional video like that (and the rest of the video is...

    My TV Show!

Încântat de cunoştinţă! No, your English is fine, really. Hey, thanks for posting this; I really like your style in the videos; it's really cool that you're on the television there. It's hard to follow the magie without knowing Român very well, but it's fun to hear you talk. (Romanian is one of...

    April 2009 :: Proudly Presenting

Here's an almost completely new thought quite literally given to me by my subconscious. A while back I had a dream in which I could really do magic. It started in a stadium where I was with a group of friends and was turning on and off lights at will. It was an interesting feeling; the...

I'm not thrilled about "The Trilogy".

It seems these are the complaints given by the original post that remain standing: 1) "While I know it's their style, I'm not into the Monotonous teaching approach." 2) "Sorry, but the tricks were just too short." Not liking the monotonous teaching is quite understandable, and at times...

Control: worth more than the secret?

Thanks; that clears things up a good bit. For Andruzzi is psychologically based, right? Do you know what percent of the time it works? I hear that psychological forces work about eighty percent of the time, which is why one needs a back-up on them. Is it the same with this pulse stop effect...

Control: worth more than the secret?

How is Control in comparison to Luke Jermay's "For Andruzzi"? I read that they're quite different, and I'm curious what the strengths are of each.

Control: worth more than the secret?

Thanks; that kind of info was really what I was looking for. I was guessing that was the case (that the majority of the worth of the DVD is not the method but the information about performing) but wasn't sure.

    The Trilogy: Tricks

You make a good point; for someone with a good amount of experience in card manipulation the actual moves wouldn't be too hard to perform. The tricky part for me is getting it perfectly smooth. And this is a trick whose value is in its smoothness. But yeah, I can see how for others it might not...

    An Essay on Gospel Magic

Oh, I'm not saying "I'm better". I am saying that those examples are bad, and would surely discourage me as a (young) adult from joining any such faith. But sure, if you like I'll think on it and see if I can come up with a way that'd work better, though it does depend on a person's style.

    An Essay on Gospel Magic

Your examples are really, really, really lame. All of them. They might be relevant for a kids show or a children's sermon, but even then... I have yet to go to a Jesus magic show in which the Jesus part is done well. Usually there's a part towards the end of the show where the just pop out...

    The Trilogy: Tricks

The video and audio quality was crystal clear, the navigation simple (though the tricks could have been ordered in something other than random fashion), and the over the shoulder video shots useful. The teaching was clear and never left anything out, though it would have been nice to hear a...
