    Present a trick without presentation?

I think it depends on what you are trying to achieve with your routines. Do you want to look skillful? or do you want ( a little Jeff Mcbride here) give people a gift in the way a magic trick can only achieve? Either way ( as craig mentions ) watching other magicians perform could give you an...

    Type of cards

I would like to add that if you are serious into performing regularly for muggles, you should consider using standard bycicle cards, since it is more common and familiar for them. If out of nowhere you bring out your white centurions or steam punk cards, even when the deck itself is "normal"...

ACAAN - Your favourite version/Best version

After playing with some of Dani Daortiz ideas, I came up with a version of acaan. No prep, no sleights.

To adapt, or not to adapt, that it´s the question.

For single tricks or things like that, I think that the word "adapt" should´t be just for the sleights, also for the patter itself.

To adapt, or not to adapt, that it´s the question.

I´m glad to see that the forums are still going strong, I come back from time to time ( Mainly because I struggle sometimes with my acces to internet) but it´s great to see new users that actually contribute something to the forum with thought provoking posts. :) I want to bring a topic of...

    Kind of annoying spectators

¨Go back to the kitchen woman!¨ Zing! Jokes aside, when that happens to me, I take it as the spectator has the chance to take momentarily the spotlight from you, they want attention, and I´m pretty sure that in your case she didn´t do it to ruin your performance or just because she hates you...

    Magicians have a huge ego.

Actually yes, it was a great read:) I like how you touch the subject about ¨how we all performers have to have a certain degree of ego¨. Another question I would like to bring to the table, is ¨What is ego? ¨ (From a performer POV) or if there are various types of ego ( I liked a lot how you...

    Magicians have a huge ego.

I actually don´t see it as a ¨diva attitude¨( haha ) I actually see it as professionalism. I mean, I don´t have experience to be honest in stage performances, but I understand ( taking the description you gave about your performance in the anime expo) that sometimes your effort alone is not...

    Magicians have a huge ego.

As meintioned some magicians just focus on their needs and what they want to do and might bore the audience that way

    Magicians have a huge ego.

Understandment (did I wrote it right?) I know it sounds weird, but I have noticed that sometimes people are already enterteined, and they may just need something that astonishes them. Other times, You may as well need to entertein them and astonish them at the same time. For example an ACR...

    Magicians have a huge ego.

I have been around the forums quite a while now, I used to be pretty active maybe a year or 2 ago, and it was around that time that a section called ¨battlewhatever thing¨was going on. It was a section where you challenged a magician, both of you recorded a trick from what I like to call the...

    Go.Out.Perform.

Guess what!? I finally got myself a decent camera (that isn't borrowed) and finally I'm going to go back to shoot live performances so that we can all learn toguether. My effects are somewhat rusty thought, I still stick to the classics, but whatever the case I'll start to post some things...

    Go.Out.Perform.

Okay, great work man, and thanks for sharing it on the thread :). With that said, now my thoughts on the Video: I'm not familiar with mentalism magic (I'm more of a card magic man myself) But I'm quite familiar with hypnosis and suggestions. Now the thing is, I'm curious, when you where...

Hey man, I just watched your video on the G.O.P thread. Great stuff, for the sake of keeping the thread alive I wrote my thoughts on your videos there ;). Great work man, I hope to see more from you in the future.

A double lift is all you need...

Yeah, I also think it depends on the audience, I probably use Dl's a lot when the audience is out going, if I have kind of a "cunning" audience, I mix in a couple of more or less complicated sleights just to variate the methods.

A double lift is all you need...

Maybe I mis-used the word (fancy), my meaning is that I already have them both and I love going back to the material in there. But yeah, in a resume, (in a performance) all you need is good presentation and a solid foundation on your DL's

Hahahaha Yeah, I used to post a lot in the forums but then I took an arrow to the knee..... (High five to those that get the reference)
