i did this trick last year before chrismas break. i used the same methos you mentioned, and it works out great. however splitting a card is very tough, so you can check out "the art of card splitting"...i hear its a great dvd and im gonna buy it in a couple weeks . it basically teaches you how to split cards and make gaffs or gimmicks...
