I recently picked up Andrew Mayne's linking card effect, 'Hypercards.'
I really like this effect! It's very convincing and magical.
Questions for those of you that perform this:
1) Do you find lighting to ever be an issue?
2) Do you tend to step back from the audience and perform the effect, as Mayne suggests?
3) Do you hand out the cards to the spectators for examination? Part of me would feel uneasy about doing this, since I feel that one of the cards may raise suspicion, despite Mayne's reassurance that nobody would have any idea (given that one is handed to one spectator, and the other handed to another.) If you are performing for one person, is it feasible to hand both cards to that one person for examination?
4) For the unlink that is shown in the promo (not the first type as taught,) it is performed quickly; however, I've been playing around with my own unlink variation in which the cards are unlinked slowly, in a rubbing motion. Has anybody performed their own slow unlink and had success with it?
Thanks!
