Hey Guys!

My names Anthony, and for those who have been around on these forums for a good amount of years, you may remember me as illusion-ninjas. Well, years later, password forgotten, email forgotten, I decided to start fresh!

I've been into magic for fourteen years now, almost my entire life. I started extremely young, and by around seven years old I was already springing and false cutting little bridge cards! Flash forward, and in 2010 I started A.M.S -Magic, starting small at first with children shows, and then later branching out after I found myself in the art, focusing on walk around and strolling gigs like weddings, and corporate/business & house parties. To be honest, I was never a fantastic children magician and couldn't recommend myself when others in my area who targeted those specific shows were far superior to me with kids. At the point, I'm looking for a landed restaurant gig, something a few days, a few hours each day per week. I have the testimonials, the brochures, the business cards, the videos. I just need to get my butt off and get up and do it :)

Street magic is my true passion. I've taken multiple classes in college and read a multitude of books on society, majoring in sociology and business. Some say I have a strange passion for meeting strangers, I say I just enjoy people and bestowing upon them the bewildering of magic!

Recently I just had my first child with my beautiful fiancé, and we've both decided that taking my magic up a step business wise is going to be the only way to go:)

I'm here for help and here to help! My forte is cards and mentalism, but I'm branching into coins and rings. If you have any questions, I'm an open book! Can't wait to start discussing magic with you all!

What's your magic story? When did you start? What's your forte? I'd love to hear it!

Welcome back! I don't remember that username, but welcome back either way.

I had a kids magic set and learned a bunch of tricks as a kid. Then as a young adult, I was at a Christmas party for my wife's work. I saw some cards so I showed a trick to the group. they loved it and asked if I knew more. I showed them more. In the weeks after they continually told me how much they enjoyed the tricks and expected more at the next years party. I wasn't a magician, I had just picked up a few tricks as I grew up. I was amazed at how much they enjoyed it. A friend of mine told me about Penguin Magic. I saw Oz Pearlman do things with card that I had no idea was possible. So I bought my first trick - Joker's Wild. It was all downhill in my addiction from there.

Ah, Joker's Wild was one of my first ones as well! The feeling of an entertained crowd is always amazing, no wonder you were hooked! What's more amazing is how strong the little tricks you learn pack!

Texa$, with a dollar sign
I also had a kids magic set as a kid plus a few tricks from the Milton Bradley: Magic Works line. We moved to Arizona and I don't know what happened.
At 30, July this year. The missus and I bought a kids science kit at a store that touted itself as 'wizard magic'; vinegar+baking soda explosions, color changing liquid, etc.
The kids really got into the 'magic and wizardry' theme of the set and it made me think of the magic stuff I had as a kid and it's been going from there.

It's the only hobby that I have ever had where I can see positive results from. I have been learning one handed cardistry to help out with my PTSD when I start getting flashbacks and anxious in public. And learning it all is forcing me to learn and repeat complex sequences.

Right now I specialize in prop (Tenyo) and card magic with the intention of being a hospital magician for a childrens hospital.
For future projects, I'm branching out to Cup and Balls right now and I'm getting Ray Kosby's Impossible Card Magic soon so I can learn Raise Rise.
And MAYBE winning one or two of these Saturday contests.
