Hey Everyone,
It is that time of year again where we all (teachers and students) are heading back to school. My classroom is ready and my students arrive on Tuesday. Please remember that I am not typically on the boards while working at school. I may occasionally drop in if I am on my lunch break or a planning period, however, do not get discouraged if you have "Reported" a thread and I haven't seen it yet, if you have "Friend Requested" or sent me a PM. Chances are I won't be able to handle the thread or moderate the boards until after 3:30 pm. Our principal has really cracked down on staff being on websites during work hours (even on breaks because the general public doesn't understand) and obviously they do checks on our computers so it would be easy for them to find me "posting". I'll still be popping in after work or in the evenings.
Also, those of you students heading back to school, start off on the right foot with your classmates and teachers. Have a great attitude. School does not have to be boring. Actually take time to develop a relationship with your teacher, show you care, and are putting effort into the class and I guarantee you, you will get the same treatment back. Tell them about your interests, hobbies, and magic. You never know who they know who can land you potential gigs. Don't be that guy though who constantly has his / her deck out in class or study hall and be told time and time again to put it away. Same will cell phones: you will honestly make it through the school day without sending texts. I promise. I'm not trying to sound like big brother, but just trying to give you the other perspective. Believe it or not, we honestly like kids and want to have fun with you guys as well. Trust me we didn't go into the profession for the amount of money we make.
Hope everyone has a great kick off to the school year!
