Not to rain on this parade but do you know how many grains of rice it takes to make a pound? Over 29,000 (www.riceassociation.org.uk/factsandfigures.htm) so while 3,000 grains may seem like a lot you would have to do 3,000 grains a day for ~10 days to donate a pound of rice.

Thats not to say you should stop, just raising awareness.

BUT

1. 1 pound of rice is A LOT. LIKE ALOT.

2. But if 10 people did 3,000 for 10 days you would have 10 pounds of rice. There's probably like a million people doing it.

I discovered this site when it first opened, it's a great cause and you can take part in it in such a convenient way. When you're bored, you can easily put food on the plates of people in dire need of it.

Mitchell

it would be more convenient for those who suffer if you actually did it the real way.

For everyone who thinks that this is not making a difference:

Yes, 29,000 grains are required to make a pound of rice, however 1 pound of rice feeds 9 people.

Secondly, look at their totals, 537,163,380 donated in October and 4,768,969,790 in November, and so far in December there has been around 4,000,000,000 (not actual number, but I eyeballed it pretty accurately). That is a grand total of 9,306,133,170 not counting the amount that's already been donated today! That's a little over 320,901 pounds of rice which can feed 2,888,110 people.
