Breaking in a deck

As I am new to card florishing I am looking for opinions on how to best "break in" a new deck. Please post and lets share the knowledge

i usually just do a couple of faro shuffles , springs , cuts and dribbles till i'm happy and satisfied .

Thanks guys! I just got my 1st deck of Tallys and I'm still trying to get over the "If i use them they will get messed up" mindset.

There's a great tutorial on kardisty.com that show exactly how do do this. It's in the tutorials section if you check it out.

Thank you very much! I love this art but it can be intimidating to me at times. I see all these things people can do and look at what little I can and think...wow can I really do that?

I looked at the link for the buffing and see the advantages of it but it still doesnt seem to take the place of breaking in the deck. it doesn't change the flexibility of the cards any just smooths out the edges
