Card Trick Question

Someone did a card trick that I cannot figure out or find on the internet. He had a pile of cards, face down, and then he would say pick a Jack of D out of the deck. I pointed to a card and he pick it up, I did not see the face, looked at it and then wrote down J of D. He did this with 5 more cards. Then he flipped them over and they were the cards that he said! I have been racking my brains and would love to do this trick. Does anyone know what it is called or how to do it?

I'm not sure what the original source for this trick is, but my friend showed me it and said that it is one of the 5 free tricks taught by Ellusionist.
