If you think my advice is bad, then why are you here? If you think T11 Products are bad when why are you here again?

Correct me if I'm wrong but you sound a bit paranoid... He didn't say T11 products are bad, he said it's better to have a good basis before moving onto
T11 products.

Learn the following-
Ultimate Transporsition
2 Card Monte
Ambitious Card
Snap change
Spring
Double Lift
Top Change

This is an entirely informative question(no critisism intended): Why is the spring up there? Its not a trick, and for a begginer, I dont think that a spring is the first thing to learn.
Also, I think that Hand to Mouth should be on that list as well. Not Dan and Dave's version, but there are much easier, more practical versions of that great effect.

Please don't go to YouTube. If you want to learn the basic go with Royal Road to Card Magic.

Also, if you are a begginer, I wouldnt even THINK about the Trilogy for at least a year. MAYBE think about Dangerous before Trilogy. Its not a begginer DVD either, but it is better than Trilogy at this point. How To Do Street Magic is good, but Ninja 1 and 2 should come a little later . How To Do Street Magic doesnt teach only card effects. That DVD teaches other types of tricks as well. If you sign up for the Ellusionist newsletter, you get 5 free card tricks, which are great for begginers.

He wasn't saying that t11 is bad..just your advice...I'm incline to agree with him...you have to start with the basics and work your way up. i have two people im teaching now and they make that mistake. one buys all the dvds he can find and the other looks or the biggest tricks he can find on youtube. if you want a good dvd to buy check out "born to perform" by Oz Pearlman. that is a great dvd that teaches you the basics and teaches you four great effects that are practical and hard hitting. they are also mostly impromptu. I use those effects in my everyday routines when i perform at ODU. Its not whether you have the biggest baddest tricks its whether you can perform the tricks you have perfectly, flawlessly and have a personality with it. Learn your stuff and then practice one a friend. That's how you get better. THAT is way better then throwing out a bunch on money for DVDs that you wont be able to understand since you dont know the basics.

I never understood what everyone had against Ellusionist products. Some of them are for begginers. WHAT IS WRONG WITH THAT?!!!!! If someone can explain that to me, I will be a complete person.

this looks like a really cool dvd for beginners man, if u need any help, PM me, im glad to help

I'll tell you what, i'm going to have to agree with this above statement. See, when I started out wanting to learn sleight of hand close up magic, I spent around 120 dollars on the Ellusionist DVD bundle. Although I don't regret doing this because I learned a lot from those, I wish I would have started with Sankey's Amazing Magic and Mentalism Vol. 1 and 2. It wasn't until two years ago that I knew about the existence of these DVDs.
Right now you could get both DVDs for around 30 dollars, and it is worth every penny if you are a beginner of magic. Every one of the effects uses everyday objects like cards, coins, rubber bands, rope, straws, hell it even teaches you how to stop your own pulse!
At my old job, people loved to see my magic when they had off-time, and a few would express to me how they would love to learn how to do some of this magic stuff for their kids, maybe to impress a girl, or maybe because they were genuinely interested in the art. I would give them information on these two DVDs and where to get it. It never failed, a couple of weeks would go by and they would always thank me afterwards and show me a trick or two that they learned. :D
Do yourself a favor and check these out. Hell, I could show you a couple of really good card tricks myself that are beginner tricks, but when you add a little sleight of hand are real magical and strong for audiences. PM me and I could share a couple of beginner card tricks with you.
Hopefully, the magic bug that has bitten you stays with you for a long while.
Oh, I almost forgot, since you're a member on these forums now; why not take advantage of it? This is a link to a free 1 on 1 for download on this site: http://www.theory11.com/1on1/#artist:12/page:1/sort:release/video:63
Johnathan Bayme will teach you not only the basic Erdnase color change, but also how to make it look incredible!

Good luck,
David

OK, I agree with you from that perspective, but was it your first magic DVD you watched? I dont think so. I am just saying that for a first DVD, it is a good place to start. Otherwise, Im sure every magician 5 weeks into magic knows every single trick on the DVD. But for someone with no base in magic wanting to get started, I thinl How To Do Street Magic is a good place to start.
