theory11 — Magic Tricks & the World's Finest Playing Cards
here it isIf you have a link in here I can't see it. But best of luck in your trick.
First, I'd have to say it's not inspired by Angle Z ... it is Angle Z. Your method may not be exactly the same but it's near enough as makes no difference.
I'm a bit frazzled at the moment so I'm going to be blunt:
You move too quickly for almost everything. You give the effect no room to breath, it's like you're trying to get it done as fast as possible. Your patter is .. bad. You're just sportscasting. It would be better to be silent than to just say what you're doing.
Physically you're ok. The switch at the beginning was fishy and you hold the deck like you're hiding something so that telegraphs that you're being sneaky. You need to work on being more natural. The way you tear it isn't realistic and it's done so quickly that it can't sink in. You gave no time for the vanish, just "Rip rip gone!"
Slow down. Come up with a script. Practice more. Watch yourself perform and look for things that seem unnatural.
Thanks for the feedback it really helps in retrospect I should have slowed down making it more natural looking. When you talk about patter what do you mean eg. Should I say what im doing or should I tell a story along with the trick?
Thanks for the feedback but I watched many other magicians preform tricks including renowned ones, a lot of the time they say what they are exactly doing in that moment in time without giving a meaning for the trick. However I understand if you create a meaning misdirection is easier and the spectators view the trick not just as a trick but something else.
Unfortunately, even some of the most well known magicians in the world actually give pretty lackluster performances geared more toward magicians than spectators.
