I usually borrow a ring and a quarter, and do a few phases of a transpo routine. The lenghth depends on whether I have a quarter myself I can ring in.
Or, I also like to borrow a coin, and use Jay Sankey's "perfect switch" to do a mindread of the date.

I perform anything impromptu depending what I have on me, you can't really turn them down. Most probably a coin effect like a one coin routine.
I perform a trick that I have not shown that person before.
