ELEVATOR CUT
By Eric Jones

Hey everyone. I've decided to review a product after a while of not. So I've chosen the Elevator Cut as taught by Eric Jones.

SPAM:
A flourishy, two-handed cut that retains both the top and bottom stock of the deck. The second release by Eric Jones here at theory11, and a concept that can be built on and modified to suit your own style and cardistry technique.

The complete sequence is taught along with each individual move within - including the Thumb Cut and more. Inspired by Karrell Fox's Butterfly Cut.

IMAGE:
It's like the Karrell Fox Butterfly Cut but more simplistic and with more of a sense of symmetry and movement. It's complex but more in-the-hands than Fox's cut.

REVIEW:
It's a nice false cut to use that bridges the gap between magic and cardistry. It's one of those moves that you can use if you're a magic purist or an XCM fan. It's not that difficult. It's knacky - especially the Thumb Cut - but if you're up to it you're in good shape. It's not Buck flashy, but not Grandpa boring.

DIFFICULTY:
I'd rate a 4 out of 10 if you can do the moves well. If you can't do the thumb cut or aren't familiar with cardistry, it might be anywhere from a 5 to an 8 for you. I'd only get this cut if you're a little experienced in flourishing.

CONVINCING?
Overall, yes. It's a nice, flashy flourish that I use a lot. It has a nice balance of symmetry and anti-gravity. This cut is highly recommended.

TEACHING AND VIDEO:
Superb quality as always. Eric's teaching is good, and he goes through situation checks to make sure everything's cool. Every move is gone over a few times, and he presents a few tips at the end. All in all, after a few watches, you should be able to perform this cut.

I give it an 8/10. It's a good cut that I'll use that's a nice form of more subtle cardistry.

Cheers.
