hEY GUYS i currently dont have fanning powder ,i will go to my local magic shop soon ,but do you know any subsitutes for fanning powderit would help alot, thanks
The key term here is "Talc" it's the primary ingredient in most body powders and yes, fanning powders of old (I'm not familiar with all the newer stuff, BUT. . . )
There is a product used in the auto-body industry known as "pearls", very fine silicon beads that get mixed with paint. These have been used in Mentalism & Magic both, as a utility tool but you can use it to slick your cards. BE CAREFUL! You may end up with a slicker deck than you want. I would use a stiff toothbrush to apply the pearls to one side of the cards only; dip the brush into the jar of beads, tap it on the side of the jar so as to get rid of the excess and then GENTLY flick the bristles of the brush towards the card surface (you won't need allot). Experiment, be patient and don't get overly ambitious when it comes to using this stuff, a little goes a very long way.
