So I remember hearing of a trick in which the ace of spades revealed a card in its fine print and I recently saw it incoporated into a trick in a preview. Anybody know what this is?

This is an idea which a lot of people have played with... I tried it out before I saw it anywhere as well.
But if you really want someone to credit, Sankey has that exact effect. Not sure the name but it is exactly as you described.
