I wanted to know how much the gimmick cost to make for the effect?

About three dollars, this is an awesome torn and restored card. Very different, and very worth it.

I personally found it impractical. There are alot of mixed opinions on it.

Looks great, it's cheap, but it's really impractical.

The impractical thing about is the gimmick needs to be remade for every performance(and it takes a little bit to make) but it is a very nice effect. If you work on it, and over time the gimmicks that you make begin to look nicer, once the gimmick looks legit and good, its undetectable by the spectator. If you are looking for T&R's, get the T&R Project by Huron Low, all great, unique and powerful torn and restored card effects, definately worth it.
