How to know when cards are done?

For me cards are never done ... it is always good for something ... especially cardistry i only use the old decks for practice.
As khaleel said, they are always good for something, for me when they get tired you can make gimmicks out of them, so there is nothing to waste.
gimmicks means editing the deck to preform a trick, like glueing cards together to make an extra-thick card so that you can find it, or cutting a hole in the deck to hide something.
when cards are tired or "gunked up", they may have lost their finish that keeps them slick, or some are bent from too much springing. also, use old card decks that gat too hard too handle, like clumping in a fan, to practice throwing cards!
P.S. the whole reson these forums exist is so that magicians can gat advice! dont be afraid to ask questions here we all want to help!
It's time for a new deck when the new deck works so much better than the old deck that you can't deal with using the old one anymore. Just keep a new deck around to compare and use the old deck as long as you feel it works for you. The more you practice the longer you will be able to use decks. When you are first starting you tend to be harder on them and they get messed up faster.
Oh, what i meant was that when they get a bit destroyed or, not a good deck (anymore), i mean like bad fans and something that makes a deck pretty much (destroyed): Scratches, etc..
