how to make a large object appear

A friend of mine gave me a life size Styrofoam deer (decoy)
I can modify it anyway I want right now to splits at the belly section but I think I could cut it up further.
Any suggestions or books on the subject would be helpful.
This is for stage redneck themed show.
 
as for suggestions....there used to be a guy (can`t remember the name atm) that had a 4 coin routine which ended up with all 4 coins turning into a REALLY big coin at the end...he used to hang this coin on a hook on his back below his jacket, and his reasoning was:
"if they don`t expect it, they won`t be looking for it"..

the less focus YOU have on the object...exactly where this limit goes I cannot tell you, so I suppose in the end it will be a Trial and error thing
 
I went a saw Lee Terbosic perform a few weeks ago and he had a dice routine and at one point he changed the dice into a bigger die and then an even bigger die that was around the size of a volleyball. I have no clue how he did it or where it came from. This doesn't help you at all but it was awesome to witness so good luck!
