Most of the answers to your questions should be answered on their website, if you take a look around...o_O

Anyway, these answers may or may not apply to your IBM ring, as each ring is different.

Yes, there is a fee.

No, there aren't required meetings. But, it'd be silly to pay for something and not go (given a choice).

No, you do not have to be a professional.

No, you don't have to be 18.

The Linking Ring is the IBM magazine, released monthly. If you're asking about the trick, then that would be exposure. ;)

Edit: Note that if you have more to add to your post, there's an edit button so you don't double post. With that said, I saw your second post after posting this, and I honestly don't know if you can cancel your membership, but I don't think so. o_O

If you are under 18 you need 1 year of experience in magic before joining and 2 years of experience in magic if you are over 18.

If you are under 18 it is $50.00 for the first year and $35.00 for every year after you first year until you turn 18 and then it is $50.00 per year. If you are over 18 it is $65.00 for the first year and $50.00 for every year after that.

You are not required to go to ring meetings, but by being a member of the IBM there are meetings that you can go to to discuss magic.

You do not have to be 18.

The Linking Ring is a magazine the IBM puts out. It discusses what went on at different ring meetings. It also gives about 10 tricks per issue or so. There are articles on magic theory. There are product reviews. And there are advertisements for magic stores and products.

Membership is for one year. You can choose to renew it or let it expire if you no longer want to belong to the IBM. If you let it expire and then decide you want to rejoin then they will reinstate you.

You must also have two active IBM members sign off on your application to vouch for you interest in magic.

Once they process your application, they will put your name in the linking ring under new applicants. If no active members have a problem with you joining the IBM, then you will be granted membership in the IBM.

Hope this helps.
