How many of you have actually been to a live magic auction where magicians bring in either "old" material, props, etc. or even new things that they purchased and just didn't end up using? Our club in Canton, Ohio holds a yearly auction that lasts from 8:00 a.m. in the morning until 5:00 p.m. at night and it has no breaks what so ever.
It is open to all magicians to sell or buy. There are no minimum bids unless it is a bigger stage illusion (which is understandable).
You get to walk around and view and play with everything to see what you like for two hours before the bidding starts to see what you like. Anything you can think of is there. Illusion plans, tricks, books, gimmicks, lecture notes,etc.
I ended up buying a brand new jumbo square circle deluxe which retails anywhere between 80-100 bucks for $35.00. For some reason either only two other guys wanted it and they stopped bidding at $34.00. Of course I wanted to buy about 10 other things but auctions can get crazy if you aren't paying attention
or the items start going too high.
I know people buy items on ebay...but this blows ebay away because you actually get to handle and play with the prop before purchasing.
