Hiya Gang!

I thought it might be a good idea to give you some of my background, since I've started to give advice on these Forums- which are awesome, by the way. You should know that this isn't "bragging" per se but simply the honest truth. I think it's important that you're always aware of who you're getting advice from and not just going on faith alone...

I've been performing for around 15 years and have met and entertained every celebrity you can think of. I perform around 80% Walkaround and the remaining 20% with a full stage show. Anyways, here's my official blurb (this is the one for magicians, not the public):

Jamie D. Grant is a professional magician from Vancouver, Canada. Known the world over for his famous "Anything Is Possible" bottles, Jamie is also recognized as one of magic's leading reviewers with his popular "Magic Friday" column as seen on the Magic Cafe, iTricks, and the Magic Friday blog.

Having worked with everyone from David Blaine to Richard Turner, Jamie feels that he has had a wonderfully fortunate career: "I'm the luckiest person around. Whether it's my Send Wonder Campaign or my soon to be released project with Theory 11, I've just had the opportunity to work with the greatest names in the magic business. I have an awesome life."

This is the short one for the public:

Jamie D. Grant is a professional magician in Vancouver, Canada who has performed and entertained for the likes of Sarah McLachlan, Cirque du Soleil and thousands of others. Featured in Ripley's Believe it or Not, Jamie has achieved worldwide fame with his "Anything Is Possible" bottle and his entertaining personality.

Now, even though I perform what almost everyone else would consider "Full Time", I've decided to keep a day job for two reasons:

A) I'm an idiot.
B) Even though I'm entirely overworked, my day job never interferes with my gigs as I can take time off (often) whenever needed.

So, on that note, I can lead you into the title of this thread: Magic Friday. Magic Friday is a review site I started about 5 years ago. Since all of my clients at my gig knew that I was a magician, they all started demanding to see magic. I was so busy, however, that it was really stressing me out. As a result, I told them that I would show them one trick, and one trick only, on Friday- Magic Friday.

So I would perform one effect all day for about 50 different clients. This was real world trenches and I would actually be doing the trick all day. I would then go home and write a review about how it went. I only have one rule- no bad reviews. Since this is my rep on the line- I only perform strong magic. And if it goes badly, I simply don't write it up.

So, if you're curious to know what I look and sound like, take a look, without further ado at...

I hope you enjoy it.

I do something similar at my school on Fridays. I perform the same effect about 10 times for classes in my school. I usually begin my Friday morning performing for our other staff members, then perform it for a few different classes, and then again for some other staff members towards the end of the day. It gives you a great feeling and instant feedback on how well the effect is playing out. By the end of the day I take all the positives that I've achieved and hone them in on the last performance of the day with that effect. This is a super way to really strengthen the effect.
