Today for 4th grade math I incorporated some so called "mind reading" magic into my math class. The kids had a blast and I had their attention the entire time.

Each student received the following:
6 cards (each containing 32 numbers on it)
instructions on how to perform the magical mind reading

Those of you who know this...this is an effect that comes standard in most little kids magic sets. It allows you to let the spectator think of a number between 1-63 and then the magi asks the spectators if the "thought of" number is on each card that he /she displays. If it is yes it goes in one pile, if no it goes in another pile.

The students then took the yes pile and mentally added up the top left hand corner number to find the spectator's "thought of" number. This was great for practicing addition facts and mental math.

These kids went crazy over this and I saw kids with their cards in the cafeteria, recess, and ready to do it at home on their parents.

Just thought I'd share.
