Hey everyone,
some of you may remember I posted a thread about my first show a few weeks ago. I had that show about 2 weeks ago. And another thread made me decide to tell you guys about it.
It was basically for a school project, but basically I organized and performed in a 1 hour show. There was a lot of stuff that didn't go as planned, but it was great overall. Below is the list of the way the show went:

1. I open with John Archer's Tossed Out Deck. This is just the classic tossed out deck but a spectator shuffled the deck before hand. Anyways, this got great reactions first off. It almost got messed up, but I got lucky.

2. I then moved onto a effect also by John Archer called Tragic Square. This is a trick where I draw a Magic Square thing under 30 seconds. They called out a number and I was able to do it in... 26? or 28? seconds or something. I didnt expect much from the audience but oddly they found it amazing.

3. I then moved onto a long routine called Collard by John Archer (i love this man... not really... hes awesome). Its basically Koran's Medallion but in a different context. Now this didnt get as good of a reaction as I hoped but the audience was still nice enough to give me an applause.

Here I went into a intermission. I had to put one because a) I didnt have enough good material (aka Im lazy to think) b) the tricks of the second half required setup.
During the intermission, I had other entertainment which was unrelated to magic. It didnt seem to affect the way my show went but yea.

4. I started with a Needle swallowing routine. I tried to keep it the whole serious, but kinda failed. I smiled at times and yea... anyways. I think it was too small to see. I tried to get the whole camera and projection thing, but couldnt. But the audience understood what happened and was still amazed as I made the whole swallowing very clear.

5. I went onto a exploding light bulb routine. This didnt get quite a big reaction as I was wearing gloves for it for safety, but people thought I was gimmicking it or something. It was still pretty good... people screamed... yay!!!

6. I went into a glass eating bit with the glass from the light bulb. This worked amazingly well as it was a very loud and "crunchy" haha.

7. I then went into Hair by Daniel Garcia, using Ehud Sagev's patter (sorry Ehud).

8. I finally ended with the spike russian roullette. Unforetunately, I was stupid... I decided to do it with home made spikes, cheap plastic cups, use the brightest spot lights ever, use a oddly short table, and top it off with 4 layers of Duct Tape Blindfold. haha. I still got an applause as I got to the final 2 cups. But oh well. I have a nice little scar thing healing. yay...

Overall, this was a great experience. A bit nerve wrecking, but oh well. A couple of things didnt go as planned though: 1. I lost my script at the last minute, so that kinda made me panic. 2. I forgot to bring my Appearing cane which was going to be for misdirection, so i replaced with a tambourine... odd yea... 3. I was originally going to do an exploding glass trick, but turns out glasses are strong. So I ran down to a supermarket and bought a lightbulb 30 minutes before the show. 4. I stabbed my hand and my parents were there haha.

ah well. I did take a video, but the angles were kinda crappy. Hopefully, other people have taken videos from other angles. I hope to get that up soon.

I need to credit a few people for the success of this show: John Archer, Dan Sperry, Criss Angel, Derren Brown, Ehud Sagev, Daniel Garcia, Tomas Medina, Wayne Dobson, Thomas Fraps, David Stone, Anton Corradin, Fantasio, Banachek, Max Maven, Fred Kaps, Jeff Hobson. I think that is about it... ah well...

Unfortunately, My patter and tricks were not 100% original. I may have made up bits here and there, but i based a lot of it on other people's material. Some of you may be against that and what ever, but I cant do much... It was my first show and time was little. Ah well. Sorry anyone I may have offended or annoyed. And all the procceeds went to Orbis, a charitable foundation helping with the medical research of sight. so yea... its for the greater good i guess.
