does anybody know the name of this routine or how he wrote her name on his palm? is it misdirection or is there a technique behind it?
 
As with anything like that, if you know the fundamentals and have a general knowledge of a variety of effect, you can come up with multiple methods. If Christopher's hint isn't enough, go back to the basics and figure out your own method.
