hey guys...just need some advice. I was wondering how many tricks and what tricks you do to a spectator or spectators before stopping and walking away? Basically whats your routine for street magic? I have the same 3 tricks i always do and then i end off with one of my "finishing" tricks which is obviously a trick with a bigger reaction that i would want to leave them remembering last. My three beginning tricks are always the same three but my 1 finishing trick always changes. Whats your view on this and what do you guys do? Thanks!

Be a spectator. Open notepad/ms word and write from point of view of a spectator.

I was walking down the street when a magician walked up to me and borrowed my...

Write a few paragraphs on what will truly amaze u and blow your mind. Real astonishing sh^t here.

Once u have it written look in the market for tricks that can accomplish those brilliant effects. if there are, buy them. theres a lot on market and ull probably get 90% of what u write. What u dont get, try to create it.

There u have a routine that actually has your mindset translated into it

You kind of have to read your crowd. If a person or whole group seems cold after one trick, I'll usually thank them and move on. Once I've done about 2 or 3, I'll ask if they wanna see one more. If they're asking me to do more, I'll keep going til I run out of tricks. Always try to leave them wanting more, though, and if you're floating around try to have enough stuff prepared that you can show different things to different groups.

Also, be aware of how long each trick or routine is. If I show my sponge routine or ACR, I don't do too many besides because those are my two longest roaming tricks.

Any magician will tell you that you must have a flexible routine, and by that I mean you must be able to leave some effects out without creating a big disaster so that you can judge your spectators and see how engaged they are with your routines and perform accordingly.
