picture this. i have 2 people each choose a card. one say the ten of hearts and the other say the ace of clubs. i then ask "may i please borrow someones house key? dont worry, you'll get it back....(after they hand me the key)maybe.

i openly put the key into my pocket. "now, you may be wondering why i need your key.. well its because im homeles....no im just kidding. actually, im going to try to find both of thier cards one at a time and if i am succesful, then they will get your house key. but if not then you get it back." i put say the ten of hearts into the middle of the deck and snap, and it come to the top. then say "look, i found it. congrats sir, your one card closer to losing your house" i then put the ten of hearts facedown on the table and tell a spec. to put thier hand ontop of it. i then take the ace of clubs, shake it and it chages to the ten and the ace is now under thier hand. i pick up the two cards and are holding them. i ask the guy who gave me the key to come up here and say, i found the first card, but then made the twoswith places and as i say theat i show him both cards. so, technically i didnt find both cards therefore, you get to keep your house! please hold your hands out. as he does, i rub both cards together and the key falls out from between them into his hand

seems pretty pointless to borrow the key
it does absolutely nothing for the effect

from what i read i give it a 2/10
nothing special about it....and the key is serisouly pointless

He makes it appear between the two cards as a climax, so it doesn't seem that pointless to me. I would also try using a quarter or something and give the trick a gambling theme. It may have a better reception than the thought of losing someone's house. ;)

I definitely like the patter, its pretty funny. But I don't think anyone will be willing to give you their house key if your doing it walk around or on the street. You might want to substitute it for something else on the street. For friends thats will be pretty good.

Three years later...this trick might be well received if you offer to SELL someone's house...

This really isn't a new effect. Your handling and patter may be different, but Justin Miller has a very similar effect that produces the key from cards that he put out on "Strolling Hands DVD" a few years ago.

haha it's all good man! Yeah, just makes me realize how much I have improved. I remember finding an old video of me where I did a false transfer (retaining a coin in finger palm). I couldn't stop laughing at myself because it looked like the hand with the coin punched the other hand and then immediately went to my pocket hahaha

Sounds good but does it only work with a key or anything similar ??? Because i believe you may run in some problems.

1) An obvious issue, i don't think every audience you perform this trick to will give you their house key.
2) There's usually a key chain or other junk attached to keys, especially house keys.
3) If there's a key chain, which there probably will, there will be other keys attached to it so you can remove the option of trying to be discrete.

if none of these is a problem, then ...... kudos my friend
