theory11 — Magic Tricks & the World's Finest Playing Cards

Pixel By David Jade

this is EXACTLY the issue that people are talking about. You skipped over all the parts that are important to magic. There was no routine, no presentation, heck, you even cut out the minor sleight of hand that is involved, and instead focused on the end visual part, with no context and cut in some "fancy" editing. Your missing the point of magic. Instead why not go out and perform the effect for a living breathing human being and record that.

Nice. I also want to see a full performance. The only problem I have is the Ace being on top. It's somewhat exposure. Nothing major really, just don't make lame excuses if people criticize. :D

I was trying to do it like dan and dave did in the trailer for it they never showed the actual performance

except that they were out performing for people. And thats saying something as its Dan and Dave and they rarely are filmed performing magic outside of conventions for other magicians.

I would much rather see you go perform this for real people and catch the entire routine on film nwatch the small trailer of the ending. I'm starting to grow tired of all of the arm chair magicians who only film and edit via their webcams and do not leave the comfort of their own homes.

Seriously guys, if you want to see how good you really are and improve upon your technique, go out and perform the EXACT same effect or routine 20 times in 1 day. You'll get immediate REAL feedback and learn how to get in and out of every situation in which you are performing this effect. I guarantee you'll modify and change the effect so that by the end of the day it is solid and strong.

By no means am I belittling anyone, I just think people need to actually get outside and get their feet wet.

PGA,
That is a step in the right direction, however, try to also broaden your audiences. Do the same effect daily, for a week even, for little children, teens, adults, grandparents. See the strenghts and weaknesses of the effect and how it needs modified for different spectators. You'll be amazed how good you get with an effect.

This is why those of us who do strolling gigs or table hopping get an effect down so quickly because we are performing it for 3 hours straight within a set.

Keep working, would love to see a good performance video from you.
