Which one do you prefer- I've read the first one and I want to see what magicians have done with the information but I can't seem to find any descriptions of some of the effects in the second one. The third one seems very intriguing but I want to see if the second one is worth it. DO you guys have any thoughts?

The second one is worth the money. Unlike the first, it's much more a collection of effects, many of which take advantage of psychological forces. Don't be fooled though - the effects are great, but like the original, the true value is in the subtext.
It is an interesting question. I found the information in 3 to be better as a whole (not that 2 is a slouch but 3 was amazing.) However I enjoyed reading 2 a lot more for some reason.
Yes its like listening to your favourite albums or watching your favourite television shows. PS2 just gives me a better overall feeling than PS3 does. I enjoy reading it for its own sake however when I read PS3 I seem not to get as involved into it.
