Question for any and all Theory11 Artists...

Hey all,
I've been into magic for a little over a year and I just got the opportunity to visit a magic shop for the first time. (It's Magic located in Hermitage, TN) I noticed that the employees had SAM and IBM patches on each sleeve. I asked them about it and they said they're both great organizations and they have annual conventions that are really cool.

So that brings me to my question(s): Are any of the artists here at Theory 11 members of IBM or SAM? If so, what has been your experience as a member? What are the conventions like? Any advice or insight on why, or if I should become a member of either would be great.

Thanks,

-Matt

I know...

I know I'm not a T11 Artist, but I just figured I would post some information for you.

IBM - International Brotherhood of Magicians Website: http://www.magician.org/

SAM - The Society of American Magicians Website: http://www.magicsam.com/

You can find out information about them there if none of the T11 Artist respond to this. Peace!

I've heard that SAM is more of the "newer, younger, more finger flingin' magic" group and IBM is the "more like a bunch of old guys talking about classic magic and sleight of hand stuff" group. IBM has been around longer, and SAM is sort of the newcomer doing all the new age DanandDave kind of stuff. Is this true?

By the way, I'm just telling you what someone at the magic shop said...
