Questions about invisible thread?

I heard that you can make invisible thread from just black thread? Is that true? I also heard about wooly nylon. Where could I buy this? By the way, I have black thread at home, would that work for levitating objects and stuff like that? Don't you have to strip it as well? (I don't know what that is.) Any good tutorials for stripping the stuff, and answers as well are appreciated!

I had always used wooly nylon for stripping, but lately I have been playing around with kevlar. I have a rig that my mentor taught me how to build back in the early 90's and I still use it to this day to help in the splitting. I know how to do it with panty hose from a lecture by Frank Pemper. That reminds me I have his floating cube around here somewhere...

I get mine at the fabric store. I learned how to split it from my mentor.
