What do you say when someone asks you three years later how you did a magic trick?? Do you reveal it to them and ruin the mystery, or do you lead them on to believe that what they saw was truly a magic miracle. Or do you simply go on and tell them that you cant or your not going to reveal the secret?? (dealing with some magicians wax, and some invisible thread) I dont know what to say - help me out!!!

well... kinda obvious. As magicians, we are meant to make our audiences BELIEVE that we can achieve the impossible.
So I say you dont tell them, but in fact, leave them hanging in the middle. At the point where they think, maybe he DID make whatever float, maybe he didnt, maybe... he made me think i saw something that i didnt. You want the magic to have happened in their minds, and not be degraded to only what the saw. (i think its pretty awesome that people are still talking about your trick after three years though)

Here's some ideas for you. Never reveal your methods.
"How did you do that!?"
Approach 1: Standard lines...
"I sometimes don't know how I do it myself..."
"Very well, don't you think?"
"Sorry, I can't tell you that..." "Why not?" "Ever heard of the Magic Mafia? That's why..."
Approach 2: Explain honestly
Just explain that as a magician, you cannot reveal your secrets.
Approach 3: Ignore the question
Just ignore the question by treating it in the same way as if somebody were to just say "wow".
