I hate card ticks for the most part, but every once in a while I catch something that's cool or someone that can just entertain the hell out of me (such as the late Martin Nash).
Why do I feel this way? You ask
Because magicians in general, become very co-dependent on cards, forgetting that there's a heck of a lot more to our world. I've even seen magic clubs refuse to bring back a noted lecturer because he didn't teach them a card trick during his previous visit.
Twisting Aces has always been a favorite of mine and this video reveals a novel "twist" to that idea. That said, I'd recommend anyone adopting said routine to blend it in as part of a completely "Gambler"/Poker theme, using other bits involving cards and/or poker chips that hold to the idea of being a clever cheat. Not only will this image add to you an "Assumed credit" factor in the eyes of the laymen (their giving you credit for being more skilled than you really are) but the related word-of-mouth can open some interesting doors for you. My only suggestion is, don't limit yourself to cards, learn or adapt routines to use dice, poker chips and other items associated with gambling... even the old Pea & Shell
