theory11 — Magic Tricks & the World's Finest Playing Cards

Saturday Night Contest - theory11 turns 18!

I found Theory11 through an ad on YouTube for Tarantula as well as a friend who owned the Avengers deck. I fell in love with the feel of those cards and immediately bought my own!

First came across theory11 through the Genesis trailers! Still in love with them, and how you create your videos!

I’ve always loved magic, I was already doing tricks with d’lites at the age of four. But I jumped from magic kits for kids to professional magic with theory11. I discovered this site on 2009 at the age of 13, and it was a dream come true. So much was possible! Technique, gimmicks, beautiful cards…

Some of my earliest memories with this site is building the Prophet gimmick for bill changes, the release of Sentinel playing cards, Pressure by Daniel Garcia taking the entire community by storm, watching 5× Speed by Chris Kenner on a loop for weeks, amazed at how powerful the effect was - and then learning it and blowing minds to this day.

I miss getting more magic releases, but I understand the focus is on playing cards now, which are the best in the market without a doubt. Love the elegant designs, Monarchs are among my all time favourite decks. Let’s see what the next 18 years are like. Thank you for all the hard work!

I have been with Theory 11 since 2014, when I first came across the Exposé series on YouTube by Christen Gerhart! Really enjoyed the weekly uploads on the latest and greatest updates on playing cards, magic and events! Really missed that series
Oh my god, Zach and Christen did amazing videos for theory11! They were so much fun! I also miss trailers for playing cards, the cardistry really made the decks feel alive.

I remember when theory11 had all these teasers in binary, I can still hear the original soundfx - it was very 2007 looking back at it, but what a time. Theory11 epitomised what cool was. The music, the cold colour grade, the under the stairs tutorials. It was huge and felt like magic and cardistry was going to enter a new era – which it did. Long live T11
And the hidden links on the newsletters! Amazing times for magic enthusiasts indeed.

I found theory11 when researching obscure magic things, and I came across the forum. I became obsessed with the tricks, trying to recreate and figure them out. Stayed for the playing cards XD

Hey Theory11 happy birthday. I first discovered Theory 11 many years ago probably when they first were online maybe the first few years they were up and running
I believe I was a member in the early days but likely lost my password or login and then rejoined again in 2020
I’ve been more engaged as a member and come back regularly!

Happy 18th, theory11! I think it was around 2014 when I first came across one of Andrei Jikh's cardistry videos, or if not maybe while browsing online for cards, magic, or cardistry materials. Either way, I’ve been here ever since.

My first deck was a Jimmy Fallon deck I randomly got from Target! Since then I have collected as many as I can because their quality and artistry are above and beyond!

In 2017, I had just turned 13 years old and had no real hobbies. That Christmas, I met my Great-Great-Aunt from South Carolina for the first time. I was not expecting a gift, after all, she had never met me before, but what she gave me changed everything. My first ever Monarch deck and a copy of The Royal Road to Card Magic. Best gift ever!
I was hooked instantly. After months of wearing down that single deck, I asked my mom to order a few more, and the rest is history. Today, I have that very first Monarch deck safe in a display case, a reminder of where it all started. I will share a picture when I get home later. Happy 18th Anniversary!
Here is that picture I mentioned.

Saw some decks on Reddit and fell in love! Bought my first few packs and spun that wheel !!!

I found Box 1 on Amazon. Loved it so much I looked for Box 2 (on Amazon). Then I started paying more attention to the links. When I found the main link to T11 I was astonished. The playing cards looked amazing, and the tricks were mind-blowing. So yeah, that's how I found T11

I must of read theory 11 on one my first bicycle steam punk decks. I found out, there were loads more sparkly decks and I wanted them all!
Happy Birthday and thanks for the ride.

The first place I ever found a Theory11 deck was in a resale store -- it was the green edition of High Victorian, and I'd never seen such a detailed deck before. I didn't start collecting cards until a few years later, but that one deck has always stuck out in my memory as what a deck of cards could be outside of the standard norm. Happy 18th anniversary! Thanks for making some great-looking cards!

Five years ago, I saw that one of my friends had very nice deck of cards. It was the first James Bond edition. I was amazed by the design and precision. I asked him what brand it is and where did he get them. And I immediately went to buy my very first deck by Theory11.

Found Theory11 online after finding an interest in playing cards a while ago, and wanting to buy some of these amazing looking cards
