Spring Formal

Ok, so I'm going to a Spring Formal this year. I went last year, and I'm pretty sure it's going almost the same. They play songs, people dance, and they have tables and food. I noticed some of the people last year would just sit at the tables (not eating) and chill. So I thought this year it might be a good idea to preform magic to the people that are just chillin. I wanted to know you guys thoughts on preforming magic in that environment? Would it be too much trouble to try to talk over the music? Do you think everyone wouldn't be in the mood? What kind of things should I preform? Any replies would be appreciated!

I see nothing wrong with that at all. The people who are most likely to want to see and appreciate magic are the ones looking for a good time, and a formal would be a good place since that's the whole reason people will be there. I always perform prophet, invisible deck, ACR, haunted deck, and here then there. I would recommend just going up to a group of people say, "Hey looks like this is where the fun is at, would you all like to see something interesting?" Hope this helps.

There's a lot of reasons people are at a formal and "looking for a good time" is not necessarily the top one or even in the top three.

Assuming you're savvy enough to know when to leave people alone without them actually having to tell you, though, there's probably nothing wrong with doing some magic there. Just remember - Don't let magic be your personality.
