What card tricks should I learn as a beginner which are effective and simple ( with double lifts , card controls etc)?

Start with Card College Vol 1 or Royal Road to Card Magic, depending on your budget. Study the books. There are more than enough good tricks in both books.

Exactly. Card College will walk you through. Royal Road will walk you through plus give you some simple tricks to use with the sleights learned. Card College is more modern, Royal Road is "dated". (Not really, but factually, yes...lol)
