theory11 — Magic Tricks & the World's Finest Playing Cards

The Advancement of Technology...

I was up last night studying for classes again...then I began to ponder.

As technology advances, will the world of "sleight of hand" be less magical?

While people may rave about a levitation feat that someone may do nowadays, what if human flight does in fact become a possibility in the future?

While teleportation effects (some sandwiches, card to (insert place here), etc) are astonishing now, what if scientists DO discover a method of teleportation of objects? Will "transpositions" still be as effective?

Just a thought...

Sleights will be just as astonishing if done with "real world" objects like cards rather than scientific tools. If you don't believe me, go to someone's house....borrow 3 opaque cups out of their cabinet...roll up some tiny paper balls and perform a cups and balls routine. Because it was a normal, borrowed, typical object...it fries them.

Magic has always, and will always be competing for the attention of people.

I still believe that some solid of hand, such as a clean coin vanish, will always be appreciated.

Otherwise, I'm not really sure. There is no definite way to predict the future.

I performed the 3 card monte(This and That) today for a teacher at school with 3 student id's. She was absolutely astounded. Now of course it may be different in the future with new innovations, but a simple trick like the latter with everyday objects can easily amaze people. I'm sure it won't pose a problem
