What it says:
In Luke Dancy's premiere 1-on-1 at theory11, he teaches the Dancy Revelation, wherein four Aces are produced from a flashy, smooth cut. Learn a new, flourishy false cut - and a smooth four card revelation - all in one 12 minute instructional video.
First Impressions/Preview: 9/10
When I saw the preview video, I was real excited about Luke Dancy's premier 1 on 1 video. When I saw the flashy cut and visualproduction, I was instantly drawn to purchase this clip. I liked the potential of the cut and I think this production was one of the best I have seen so far. One of the many things I like about most 1 on 1s is that it shows the full performances without any edits, so I will know what I get.
Video Quality: 10/10
Getting sick and tired of its quality. Its perfect everytime I get a video from them. Great editing, HD, perfect music which synchronises the magic. Credits to Andrei and Dana.
Explanation: 9/10
I thought that the false cut as well as the production was very well thought, especially the cut. The multiple angles helped learn a lot better. The teaching was clear and was not boring at all (unlike many long, tiring explanations of tricks). He went through the cuts clearly and even though I do not do flourishing much, I got it down after a couple of attempts. Perhaps the only downside is the explanation of the production. The first part of the production (where the first two cards are visually revealed), I would have preferred if he went through a bit on the angles. When I performed this production for my friends, they caught me doing the move. Other than that, it was aboslutely flawless.
Method/Effect: 8/10
The reason I did not give this a 9 or 10 is because I feel that a four of a kind production should be done on its own to enhance the effect of the production itself. This is just my own personal impression, so please don't condemn my views. Anyway, to counter my views, this production cannot be done with a flourish, and the flourish is an ideal way to 'introduce' the flourish. The visualness of this effect is sick, especially the first two cards that are produced. The entire motion of this production is fluid and I think that with a bit of practice out in, it could be the production that we do from now on.
Clean-Up: 10/10
This part is great, as Luke tells you that this production, even though requires a cut, can be retained in full deck order, which is especially useful to card magicians as there is usually set-up for most tricks. After thos section, Luke gives you his personal tips to practice this effect, which I personally find more than useful.
Application: 9/10
Just a tidbit here, Luke tells you a false cut that is easy and just as flashy. It is basically the exact same cut as the one with the production. I will not use this as I am more of a magic kinda' guy. Perhaps, people who plan on starting with cardistry will like this one as it is easy yet attractive.
Tips/Final Thoughts: 9/10
Luke tells you his thoughts, some general tips of the effect and helps you to understand its versatility. Great effect, even better explanation.
Overall: 9/10
Great effect, well explained. Has many applications and its more than practical with some practice. I think most will use this production due to its visualness and simplicity
I think it is safe more me to say: ADD TO CART!
