Tips for Hand to Hand Spread

I'm just a beginner and started reading Card College Volume 1 just a week ago and I ran into a problem with spreading the cards. Wondering if anyone could share tips or practice techniques? Anything would be much appreciated! =D Thanks guys
 
I have problems with making it seem fluid and making the cards neat and tidy. My cards go all over the place. And I have a hard time using the fingering taught in the book (the books says to alternate between index and middle/ring fingers). =D Thanks
 
Try making a kind of "guide" with your left forefinger and little finger.

I would suggest picking up The Roadrunner Cull (available HERE - although there seems to currently be an issue with his site.), simply because you will eventually need help on the Cull, and Kostya gives some tips of the spreading.
