True Up the ladder

So the question might seem really weird, but I've been working on a false RRSRC sequence, doing an Up the ladder cut for the Stripping part, but what is it supposed to replicate ?
In France, I hardly ever see those any riffling (mostly overhand/hindu) and never saw a stripping action so I'd like to learn the real up the ladder now

The whole RRSRC is supposed to replicate standard casino procedure. In casinos, the dealers are supposed to give the deck two riffle shuffles, followed by a true stripping action, followed by a riffle and a straight cut (procedures might vary, I'm not sure). The up the ladder sequence is supposed to replicate the true stripping action.

I don't know what procedure a casino in France might use, but they should be using more than overhand/hindu shuffles because those shuffles don't mix the cards as thoroughly as a riffle shuffle.

I already take cards from the bottom thus cutting the deck, but the following actions don't make any sense... Maybe I got the name wrong.. What I'm talking about is the cutting sequence Jason England does a 0:50 here on his Push Through preview here http://www.theory11.com/1on1/#artist:10/page:3/sort:release/video:68 ie leaving a packet outjogged.

Well, for just a gambling demo, I would say the Up the ladder cut would be ok. However, if you are really going for a RRSRC sequence, for the poker game, then using the up the ladder could go badly. Usually, the strip part of the sequence, the half you are stripping from doesn't come in contact with the deck. You are holding the half to strip from at about 2 cm above the deck, but not touching it. When you execute an up the ladder, you have to replace the entire half onto the deck each time before you strip out the bottom portion again.

Having said this, the "up the ladder" doesn't actually represent the stripping action accurately.

Now, if you are going for a full deck order retention for a gambling demo, the good news is you dont really have to abide bye the strict rules of the RRRSRC or RRSRC, so your up the ladder will be ok. However, at the card table, I would stay away from the up the ladder cut. (which his ok, because you dont need a full deck retention, only a 1/3 deck order retention).
