U Shaped bend in decks- some kind of "work"?

Hi there,

A favourite magician of mine (I wont mention just in case it's a kind of secret) seems to perform all of his tricks with a considerable U Shape on his decks. I'm kind of new to this, so I've never seen this before. Is this a known thing?

Does it make any techniques easier, is it a kind of "work" on the cards or am I just going insane?

Cheers!

Hey there,

It can help to facilitate the LePaul Spread, but unless this magician exclusively performs effects with face-up/face-down separations, I doubt it's of much use. It could actually hinder the magician's ability to perform a lot of sleights, like the perfect Faro shuffle for example.

Maybe he just needs to buy a new deck of cards?
Scott.
