Hello!

We're announcing the second installment of the Theory11 Weekly Community Podcast, starting at 8PM Eastern Standard Time!

Last weeks didn't go over so well due to some technical difficulties. I've fixed all that, and we're ready for another!

Todays' topic of discussion is routining. We've seen a lot of posts regarding this topic, whether directly or indirectly.

The review today is on...THE THUMB TIP!

Anyone can call in using Skype at 8 when we start, and listen live. You can even voice your opinion towards the end when we open up to free discussion!

To do that, go to Skype and download the software and create an account if you don't already have one. It's a free service, and works in the same fashion as AIM, which I'm sure most of you are familiar with.

Once that is done, visit our Skypecast page, and click "Join this Skypecast!"

If you would rather listen to it later, all of our podcasts will be available to listen to, or for download here.

And for those of you with iTunes, you can click here and subscribe to the podcast!

Don't forget you can visit us in our parallel IRC chat room. The server is DALNet (irc.dal.net), and the room is #Theory11. Check out the tutorial here for using mIRC to connect. We are in there right now.

If you have any trouble, post here and we'll get it sorted out!

Hope you all enjoy,

-ThrallMind

Just so you know, it sounds like there are two problems with last weeks recording. Firstly, there's the speed increase which is most likely software related, however, the echoey sound is probably due to one or more people recording for the podcast didn't have their workstations et up correctly.

To avoid getting feedback, make sure you have your speakers turned off, using headphones instead. Make sure that the recording settings on your computer are only set to pick up audio from the microphone if you are recording solo, or if you are recording a skype conversation, make sure it only records from the stereo channel.

Hope this helps, and I look forward to hearing the next one. :)

Actually, the problem with the echo was related to the program we were using, don't worry, this time we are using skype.

Just an update for you guys interested. The first proper podcast has been recorded (yes we had to do things differently again!) and Thrall is working on getting that ready for you.

It was a great discussion and Michael Nasello and Jon.Rice joined us too, they had some great input. :D Thanks to those two.

So yeah, look out for the podcast link soon. And just remember, this podcast is for everybody, some of it may not apply to you and you may already have the same thoughts etc. But this is just as much for beginners as it is for anyone else wanting to listen.

At all points these are at the end of the day just our opinions and should be taken as such. If you want to take on board our words, by all means do if you think it could help you. But please do not take these as cold hard facts which you must follow! These are just our experiences. :)

Thanks!

- Sean
