if your into card magic you should consider expert card techniques by jean Hugard it has basic hand of sleight utility moves explained that almost all of the good magic tricks use its a book by the way.
and if you can't understand those just by reading than i suggest checking out Jason England's foundation 1 2 3 which will make you sleight of hand in cards extremely good and if you don't want to buy all the tricks found in foundations you can also buy those tricks individually
Sir Jason explains them very well and also tells applications of those tricks
and then if your intermediate magician already but still looking for something good then I will suggest Daniel Madison's dangerous first volume mystique it has some amazing effects
go check them out.
I also would have suggested Dan and Dave's the trilogy first volume but it is sold out.

Get books first. Start with something like Royal Road to Card Magic if you're interested in card magic.
If you jnly have 100 quid for a whole year, start small first and work from there.
