On penguinmagic they have a discussion section just for that. Here on theory11 I would recommend opening a forum about said purchase and ask if people would pm you that have bought the same effect. That way you can have a private discussion on the effect and it won't reveal it to those that haven't purchased it yet.
People can typically clue in by whether they know the effect well enough or not. Like Counterfeit for instance, they can give enough hints to show that they know it beyond a shadow of a doubt and still not give anything away. Other than that, I don't know how to help you.
Otherwise we should suggest theory11 to open a private forum for tricks. I Don't know if anyone else has suggested it before or not.
That's actually a pretty good idea. You should suggest that to J.Bayme. He actually views the forums from time to time and will respond to forums. I support that idea.
