I don't know if this is the right forum category for this post, so if it's not, I do apologize and welcome a moderator moving it where it should be or removing it all together if it doesn't fit on the forum in general.
I decided, about a year ago, to write a multi-part series of books called "The Deceiver's Codex." It is basically a series that teaches the fundamentals for more advanced magic. My decision to write it was based on 2 reasons. I'm a firm believer that if magic is never taught or shared, the art form will inevitably die as the secrets die with those that keep them. The other reason is that I wanted to share my 20 years of studying the various forms of the art and do my part to add to the magic community.
The reason for the post itself is not to promote the book. I'm actually creating the post to put out the opportunity for others to have effects included in the book. The first volume is based purely on card magic and that is the one I am finishing up now. While I have enough effects of my own for the book, I'd actually like to give a nod to others in the field if they are interested in having their effect(s) published in the book. Full credit would be given for any effects submitted for and used in the book. Keep in mind that any effect submitted for the book should be one you don't mind revealing, as others will likely learn and do these effects from the book. They can be easy or advanced, but they must be your creation to share, not a method to someone else's proprietary work. I see books like these as almost a time-capsule so to speak. So I'm basically providing the opportunity for others to put something in that time-capsule.
There will also be more opportunities like this when I begin writing the mentalism, close-up, and stage volumes.
