On Wenesday I performed magic for the first time at an Izakaya (Japanese style bar). I have really just done my thing with friends, but it was the first time in front of people. It was seriously a blast! I was super nervous though. Also I was kinda drunk. My hands were super shaky hahaha. Everyone seemed to enjoy it and I also got a free shot of Tequila.

I would love to hear your stories about the first time you actully performed magic for people other than friends or family. What advice would give you people about their first outing?

Your first performance will pretty much always be nerve wracking, if you're not already a seasoned performer with other types of performance. In those cases, it tends to just be kind of nerve wracking.

Magic is unique in that it requires fine motor skills which are not meant to be seen. All other skills on stage are meant to be seen - juggling, acting, etc.

I had years of fire and circus performance under my belt before I did my first magic show and my hands were still very shaky when I did it.
