Visual Coin Across
Marc-Antoine Denis
Special Thanks: Music used with permission: danosongs.com and audionautix.comNOTE: No prior knowledge of coin magic is required to perform this effect.
The effect: Using a sharpie, a symbol is drawn on a borrowed coin. A regular coin is introduced, and the two coins are shown on both sides. With a shake, they visually transpose at the fingertips. They are once again shown on both sides, and handed to the spectator for examination.
VCA is easy to do, instant reset and virtually impromptu. Best of all, it uses two ungimmicked coins, it's instantly examinable and there's nothing to add, ditch or palm.
3 handlings are taught in 17 minutes of clear instructions shot in 1080p. Draw any symbol, use the spectator's initials or perform a dazzling tranposition in their hand. 4 extra ideas using the same concept are shared, along with 5 subtleties that make the effect even more convincing.
The color of the coin doesn't matter, but it is recommended to use a color that will contrast with the ink. The perfect size for the coin is a silver half-dollar.

While the effect is good, the trailer is a bit misleading. I mean this in the sense that it states "ANY symbol can be drawn on the coin", when in reality, a signed coin makes the trick more difficult to perform, and in turn makes the method easier to catch. While this is a little annoying, I think is still a great effect for beginners and intermediate coin magicians.
Berkeley, California • Jan 18th, 2018The description states that there are no gimmicked coins but there is a gimmick used throughout the effect. It is very simple to make and the teaching is done really well!
Canada • Aug 27th, 2015Pretty clever! I highly recommend this for beginners in coin magic that want an "impossible" visual transport in their arsenal. The possibilities and variations using this idea are legion!
New York • May 7th, 2015This is a really great effect and it's very simple to do. A really easy technique and if you buy it you'll realize that you got more than trick. I really recommend it if you wanna add some coin tricks in your routine because it's very visual and can be done with so many variations.
Brasil • May 1st, 2015Really nice effect with many variations and it's easy to preform!
Maine • May 29th, 2013Just got this, so this is my quick review. The gimmick is simple to make. It took me 5 minutes, and all you need is 2 household items. The move itself couldn't be any simpler, and this can really be done on any coin except for a dime! The only thing that disappointed me was the gimmick construction, because at the time, I did not have what I needed to make it. When I got back from the store to make it, it didn't fit. So I had to get another one. It took quite a while, but in the end, this is DEFINITELY worth it. 5$ is a steal! Get this now! Been performing this on the streets for 2 days, and all I've gotten was jaw drops left and right. It's great because the coins can be examined before and after the trick. 9/10!
USA • Dec 29th, 2012This is a great effect! I love it! It's totally worth it's money!
CA, USA • Nov 26th, 2012I bought this and couldn't believe what I saw! This is a great trick and I love it
USA • Jun 10th, 2012While familiar with the method, he did very good work on perfecting this. Honestly though, I made the gimmick exactly how he said and tried my best to practice this effect and it does not seem to work like in the video at all. :( I think he should have been more specific with the size of the coins, ect.
CA, USA • Jun 4th, 2012Easily one of the best effects and explanations on The Wire.
Florida • Jun 3rd, 2012Very nice looking transposition. My definition of visual must be different than Marc-Antionne's. When an object loses a direct line of sight from the spectator during the "moment of magic," it ceases to become "visual." To me, Chris Kenner's 3-Fly is a visual coins across because the coin does not get obstructed from the spectator's point of view. Again, very nice effect... misleading title.

Gauteng , South Africa • Jun 2nd, 2012C'mon ! Too easy to catch...
Montreal • Jun 1st, 2012It's great to finally see this on the Wire. :)
Salt Lake City • Jun 1st, 2012Not really a coins across but rather a transposition. And a fairly clever one. It is simple, but I feel that's what will make this trick powerful . Nice job!
