Psychological forces are all about the performer. Nothing doesn't fail, and if you're looking for stuff that doesn't fail, you have the wrong attitude for mentalism. The only way to succeed in a psychological force is for you to become proficient in performing it. The best way to practice is just to keep doing it to people. Keeping in mind that it doesn't matter if you fail. If you're scared to fail, if you don't want to perform because it could fail, you have the wrong attitude for mentalism.

I didn't teach any psyche forces in 23:23, however the turnover 23 move could be used as an out if you miss on a psyche force, or just a standard mex. turnover.

Place down the card you're trying to force and if you hit, let them flip it, if you don't, do the move.

Praetoritevong is correct in saying that the only way to get good is to go out and do it, the idea of having an out is the most solid was to do so.

You could use an invisible deck, or the thought of riffle force. They both appear to be thought of.

Also there's the gag where you have the force card on top and you let them name any card and turn it over. If you hit it, just act like that is what always happens. If not just laugh it off. I think Derren Brown said something like this. I'm not sure if this would go with your personality though.

I'm thinking that basically it's how you practice the classic force. Like everytime you have them pick a card you classic force the card even if you don't have to so you can get the move and timing down.

Use a psycho force on every trick where they name a card and see how often they hit.

hehe. If you're more of a comical person, you can leave a card on the table and ask them to think of a card. NOnchalantly turn the card over and name it:

"Six of Hearts"

"That wasn't my card"

"I didnt say it was, I said this was the six of hearts" *sarcastic glare*

I think the best use of a psychological force is, "these are not the droids you're looking for" - or the Darren Brown mental force of the 3 of diamonds.
