After purchasing Stuck by Greg, I was hooked on his magic. Stuck has become one of my favorite effects, and it is one of the few coin tricks I like to perform. I bought Cosmos a few months ago and haven't seen any reviews, so I thought I'd give it a shot.
EFFECT:
It is basically the same effect as Out of this World, except it is impromptu, and the spectators shuffle the deck as much as they want.
IMPORTANT INFO:
-completely impromptu
-can borrow a spectators deck
-all setup is done during the course of the trick
-extremely simple
-needs two spectators
QUALITY:
Well the video is not up to theory 11 or E standards, but it does not create any problems. I have no complaints about this.
TEACHING:
Greg's teaching is very good. I only watched the video twice before I picked everything up. He takes his time and goes over the handling in full detail, once again, no complaints.
METHOD:
When he explained the method, I was floored. When I watched the demo video, it said, parts of the video are cut to protect the method, so I wasn't very intrigued. But the method is genius. I thought the secret would have to be complex culling or extremely slightly, but there are almost no moves. It is almost self working. You shuffle the deck, and then the SPECTATORS SHUFFLE the deck completely, and then the trick begins. You are completely ready after they shuffle, and do not have to do any more work. This is why the trick is so impressive. Spectators never know, ever. This effect is mainly about presentation, and deserves to be built up. Anyone can do this effect, but you will need to make sure your presentation is solid. Greg covers that area in detail also.
MY THOUGHTS:
I always loved Out of This World, but the setup was annoying, and I don't like tricks that involve that kind of prep work. I never thought there would be a way to do this impromptu, I tried working on a method for a while, but I never had anything good. I love Greg's version, and use it as a closer all the time. The fact that the spectators shuffle makes it the perfect trick. The reactions are incredible. You have full control over what happens, and there is no way the spectators can mess anything up for you. I usually have them make one or two mistakes so it seems like it could be pure coincidence and not so much a trick.
PROS:
-Impromptu
-Spectators shuffle
-Any deck, any time
CONS:
-method could be discovered if you don't practice well, but that is true with any trick so not a problem.
FINAL THOUGHTS:
If you like out of this world, do not hesitate to buy this trick, you will not regret it.
9/10
