Jerry's Nuggets Question

The printing presses which were used were stopped being created, where as before they used pressing methods, now they roll them out.
I suppose it would be too much of a hassle to reproduce the old machinery and the new one is alot more efficient and that's why they aren't produced anymore.
Also, the Casino doesn't exist anymore, apparently went out of business way back when.

I still don't get it. If there exists some method that makes cards that good, why isn't it used? Or are Jerry's only valuable because they're rare? Sure UV-500 is great, but if there's something better, what makes card makers think that people wouldn't pay big bags of money for them?
They're valuable because they're rare, because famous people use them, and they're extremely well hyped.
Also, from what I've told they're very thin and stiff. Which is what makes them so popular with people that have enough money to afford them.
However, they're only valuable to the (comparatively) tiny magic and cardistry communities. It would be SOOO not worth it to the USPCC to put together the old presses with the old methods so they could print cards for a tiny group of people (in their eyes). It seems like everyone would pay so much money for them because on these forums we're surrounded by people who value them so highly, but generally, people think it's INSANE to pay that much for 54 pieces of paper.

Okay, the USPCC took over the production of Jerry's Nugget playing cards(of course the casino is still in business, when the cards are out of print, it doesn't mean the casino has the same faith) the USPCC basically effed up the machine that produced the JN playing cards. The reason why the USPCC will not reproduce these deck of cards is because only magicians and flourishers want them... and it takes A LOT of money to get the right machines to have it exactly the same. USPCC are already making enough money on bikes and stuff(since laymen buys them too) and the USPCC will not try to get all that money and effort just on 100,000 people(estimation of the population of magicians and flourishers) just for one type of playing cards...

I learned something new today. You guys really know your history on things.
I would like to handle some Jerry's just to see why they are considered to be so good.
If they are thin and stiff, I can see the value in them as a Magicians. DL's would be nicer to do for example.
I guess I will stick with my UV-500 Air Flow Finish cards.

The only problem with the UV-500 cards is that all the decks that the finish is on, is a very thick deck...not that good for flourishing, they cards also arnt as stiff....if you are looking for a reasonable deck for flourishing, get some Old Style Studs...they are thin, stiff, smooth and not that expensive!

Lots of Jerry's owner say that these are great cards, very good for flourishing but not really good for magic. They even stated that it's not really the best cards that they have handled. And I don't think cards will really help you on your DL's... it's the performer that will help on your DL's(in this case, you)
I think you should try to experiment on different USPCC cards.
i seriously think that Jerrys are hyped and people with them get the placebo effect and think they are superior
