Without giving the method away Is the DD somewhat the same as scotch and soda except on top of the hand? I know it's a crazy question but I am saving money for Christmas and want to make the right purchases.

No, it uses a different method and gimmick to produce (from my experience with DD and S&S) a stronger effect.
But until T11 straightens things out with Jamie Schoolcraft and Steve Duschek, Digital Dissolve is not available for purchase.

Appreciate that clarity,..What's the deal with DD being unavailable? I'm sure this has been answered before but since I have this thread open already I'l just continue.
Long story short:
Steve says that D.W. stole the effect from him, T11 took it down whilst they investigate, decide what course of action to take, etc. etc.
Sales of Digital Dissolve have been suspended. Feel free to check out this post and thread --
